TKMS has partnered with Seaspan Shipyards to support Canada’s goal of building a sovereign sustainment capability for the Canadian Patrol Submarine Project (CPSP). The collaboration brings together TKMS’s global submarine through-life engineering and lifecycle support expertise with Seaspan’s proven Canadian sustainment infrastructure, workforce, and supply chain. Destiny Copper is a Canadian cleantech company that has developed an innovative hydrometallurgical technology to recover copper from industrial and mining waste streams. The aim is to obtain high-purity copper products with a modular and cost-efficient process while reducing the use of environmentally harmful, energy-intensive processes. The company was founded in 2017 and develops its technology with a focus on sustainable resource use and lower emissions in copper production.
The Memorandum of Understanding establishes a framework for cooperation between TKMS and Destiny Copper in support of the Canadian Patrol Submarine Project (CPSP). The collaboration focuses on advancing the critical mineral supply chain through an Industrial and Technological Benefits (ITB) partnership and on supporting the scaling of Destiny Copper’s capability to convert waste streams into high-purity copper powder.
