A four-day planning event in Kiel brought together representatives from Germany, Norway, Canada, TKMS, KONGSBERG, and Multiconsult, marking the operational launch of multilateral cooperation within the 212CD program. The focus was on jointly planning the next program phases, establishing multilateral working structures, and preparing for contract negotiations. With Canada’s participation, the project becomes a unique NATO cooperation initiative that strengthens naval interoperability and sustainably improves maritime security in the North Atlantic and the Arctic.

TKMS is selected as the Preferred Supplier for the Canadian Patrol Submarine Project, with the potential delivery of twelve 212CD submarines. This trilateral cooperation between Canada, Germany, and Norway strengthens collective defence and establishes a sovereign Canadian sustainment enterprise.

TKMS and Cohere, the world’s leading sovereign AI company, have signed a contract for IT services. The contract marks the next phase of the companies’ collaboration and covers the deployment of Cohere’s North platform and related project services to support the introduction of a group-wide AI data and integration platform at TKMS.

TKMS has awarded Valbruna ASW an initial order for approximately 70 metric tons of non- non-magnetic submarine steel to advance the certification of this material for the Canadian Patrol Submarine Project (CPSP), and at the same time signed a cooperation agreement that ensures the joint development and production of this highly specialized steel for modern submarine platforms.

TKMS, Heirloom Carbon Technologies, and thyssenkrupp Calvion have signed two Memorandums of Understanding to build a large‑scale Direct Air Capture hub in Alberta, creating low‑cost CO₂ removal, high‑value jobs and a strong export platform for Canadian clean‑tech companies. The project combines Heirloom’s mineral‑based Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology with thyssenkrupp Calvion’s engineering expertise and complies with Canada’s ITB policy for technology transfer and local economic development.

TKMS and CAE signed an agreement aimed at strengthening their collaboration on naval training, simulation and operational readiness solutions. The agreement supports ongoing cooperation between the two companies, including activities related to the Canadian Patrol Submarine Project (CPSP) and establishes a pathway for future services and collaboration opportunities.

TKMS and Isar Aerospace agreed on an industrial cooperation project to establish a sovereign Canadian Space Launch capability. The collaboration will be focused on solving one of the biggest bottlenecks for space-based capabilities: launch capacity.

TKMS and General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada are partnering to establish “Arctic Sentinel,” an undersea R&D centre focused on advancing climate-resilient surveillance technologies for Canada’s Arctic maritime domain. The initiative supports the Canadian Patrol Submarine Project (CPSP) by accelerating innovation from prototype to deployment while strengthening sovereign capability and domestic value creation.

TKMS and Finkl Steel – Sorel have signed a teaming agreement to explore cooperation on the production of specialized stainless-steel materials for the Canadian Patrol Submarine Project (CPSP). The partnership aims to strengthen Canada’s naval industrial base by combining global submarine expertise with advanced domestic metallurgical capabilities and enabling long-term industrial participation.

TKMS and E3 Lithium have signed a teaming agreement to integrate Canadian lithium resources into the supply chain for the Canadian Patrol Submarine Project (CPSP). The partnership focuses on research, technology transfer and investment to strengthen secure, sustainable critical mineral supply while enabling future industrial, and export opportunities.
